Mask Policy- Update 6/3/2021

Note in the Pocket is committed to providing a safe and welcoming place to work and volunteer. We have been intently focused on taking actions to keep our staff and volunteers safe and healthy and our programs open and operating efficiently during the Covid-19 pandemic. We have adhered to guidance from federal, state and local governing organizations to guide our policies. Based on the CDC’s science-based guidance and feedback from volunteers, we are updating our mask policy in a way that balances our commitment to maintaining a safe environment for our valued volunteers and staff.

Beginning on Thursday, June 3, fully vaccinated staff and volunteers (ages 18 and up) are no longer required to wear a face covering while in our buildings. If you are not fully vaccinated we ask that you continue to wear a face covering. This will be on the honor system. Volunteers ages 13-17 will continue to be required to wear a face covering while in our locations in keeping with NC school/camp safety policies..

Those that prefer to continue to wear a mask are welcome and encouraged to do so. We will continue to implement enhanced cleaning practices and physical distancing across both locations.

We will reevaluate our policy for youth volunteers when/if the Governor issues new guidance.  We reserve the right to resume requiring face coverings, even for fully vaccinated individuals, if recommended by the CDC and/or governmental authority in the future.

We appreciate your continued support during the pandemic and please know we could not achieve our mission without you.

We also want to remind you of our safety protocols and procedures:

Please wash your hands upon entering the building, before you begin your volunteer shift.

  • Please keep 6 feet of distance between yourself and other volunteers.
  • If you are experiencing any symptoms (fever, cough, runny nose, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, or any other COVID symptoms) you are required to stay home and encouraged to get tested.
  • If you have tested positive for COVID, we ask that you quarantine and do not return until after 14 days.

Please review our COVID Response Plan that outlines steps if you have been exposed to someone with COVID or if you yourself test Positive. You can review all of our safety guidelines below. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us at 919-714-9403.

We appreciate your continued support during this challenging year.
