SECU’s Western NC Relief Initiative Includes Note

Note in the Pocket is honored to join the SECU Foundation’s third phase of disaster relief efforts for Western North Carolina communities impacted by Hurricane Helene. This significant funding will provide crucial long-term support to residents as they recover.

The SECU Foundation has committed nearly $9 million in total relief, with this third phase allocating $3.45 million to seven key non-profit organizations. We are proud to be among them, receiving $250,000 to directly support clothing children, families and individuals with dignity and love in the disaster-stricken areas.

As the largest organization in NC solely dedicated to providing high-quality and sufficient quantities of clothing and shoes to children and families, Note in the Pocket brings unparalleled expertise and a proven infrastructure to this critical aspect of disaster relief.

“Note in the Pocket’s involvement is designed to coordinate the delivery of critical resources to children, families, and individuals affected by the disaster, shared Dallas Bonavita, Note in the Pocket’s Executive Director. “Note is also serving as a resource and support system for communities that want to expand an existing clothing distribution program or begin one in their community. We are so grateful for the dedication of the SECU Foundation to address clothing insecurity in such a profound way.”

This partnership underscores the SECU Foundation’s motto of “People Helping People” and their commitment to providing vital support where it’s needed most. We are deeply thankful for their recognition of the critical role clothing plays in recovery and well-being.

We are eager to work alongside our partners in Western North Carolina, ensuring that children and families impacted by Hurricane Helene receive the clothing they need to face the future with hope. Your continued support allows us to extend our mission during this critical time.
