Celebrating 20 Years with the Enloe Charity Ball

Members of the Enloe High School student council.

What a way to celebrate two decades of service! Note in the Pocket and the Enloe Charity Ball both reached their 20th-anniversary milestones in 2025, marking a powerful legacy of community impact for both organizations.

After a rigorous selection process involving 13 nonprofit applicants, the student leaders at Enloe High School, led by the Enloe Charity Ball branch of the student government, chose Note in the Pocket as the beneficiary of their 2025 fundraising efforts. Their energy and dedication to our mission have been nothing short of inspiring.

The partnership culminated on December 13th at the Marbles Kids Museum with the annual Charity Ball. While technically a student dance, the event has grown into a staple that is now just as well-attended as the Enloe prom. The evening brought together students, sponsors, and Note in the Pocket. In attendance were Development Director Meg Carpenter and Wake Volunteer Leader Shawnice Smith (a proud Enloe graduate!), along with several members of the Note in the Pocket Board of Directors.

The Enloe Charity Ball originally set an ambitious goal to raise $200,000 to support our mission of providing quality clothing with dignity and love. We are thrilled to share that the fundraising window has now closed, and the students surpassed their goal, granting a spectacular $214,000 to Note in the Pocket.

These funds arrive at a critical time and will directly support:

Staff Growth: Supporting our dedicated team as we scale our operations.
Expansion: Bolstering our recent move into Durham County.
Community Reach: Increasing our school-based deliveries and our “Pocket Pop-Up” events, ensuring we meet families exactly where they are.

We are incredibly proud and thankful for this partnership. Seeing the next generation of leaders rally behind our mission to clothe children in Wake and Durham Counties reminds us why we started this journey 20 years ago. Thank you, Enloe, for helping us clothe children with dignity and love!
