Building Partnerships

Addressing clothing insecurity requires strong community partnerships. Note in the Pocket partners with school social workers and human service agencies across the Triangle. These partners identify clothing needs and submit personalized requests on behalf of children and families. Our team fills each request with high-quality, seasonally appropriate clothing to help children feel their best, and remove barriers to school and everyday life.

A Clothing Resource

Note in the Pocket serves as a clothing resource for schools, human service agencies, and community organizations across the Triangle. By providing quality, everyday clothing, we complement the work of partners already helping families access food, housing, education, and other essential resources.

When a referral partner identifies a child experiencing clothing insecurity, they submit a personalized request based on the child’s sizes and clothing needs. Requests can also include clothing for members of the child’s immediate family.

Each Mini-Wardrobe provides approximately two weeks’ worth of quality, seasonally appropriate clothing in the recipient’s specific sizes. This includes new socks and underwear, shoes, tops and bottoms that can be mixed, matched, and layered, and seasonal outerwear as needed.

Once a Mini-Wardrobe is complete, we deliver it to the referring school or agency. Our partner then coordinates directly with the family to get the clothing to them.

This referral-based model helps families access clothing with dignity while reducing barriers to receiving support. This alleviates the need to navigate additional service providers.

Each Mini-Wardrobe is thoughtfully selected with the individual recipient in mind. By providing quality clothing that fits each person’s needs, we help children feel comfortable and confident to participate fully in school and everyday life.
