Clothing Processing

Clothing Sorter

Most of our individual and group volunteers help with quality control, sorting, and/or organizing clothing donations. This is the beginning role for all new volunteers. All volunteer shifts must be scheduled on our volunteer signup platform.

Volunteer shifts:

Monday: 9am-12pm, 1-4pm
Tuesday to Friday: 9am-12pm, 1-4pm
Saturday: 9am-12pm

Administrative Tasks

Front Desk/Donation Attendant

Great role for a friendly, outgoing volunteer who loves people!  We prefer a commitment to one shift per week.

• Help donors dropping off clothing items
  • Unload bags from donor cars into carts & wheel into the building
  • Provide tax receipts
  • Help volunteers sign in at our check-in kiosk
• Answer the phone
• Handle packages and deliveries as needed

Clothing Delivery

Donation Box Delivery

We have multiple donation drop-off locations in Raleigh, Cary, Morrisville, Apex/Holly Springs, Wake Forest, and Durham. 

• Pick up donations from drop-off location & deliver to us at 4730 Hargrove Rd
• Must be at least 16 years old and have a valid driver’s license and insurance 
• Help anywhere from once a month to once a week
• Flexible scheduling based on each location’s hours

Before scheduling on our volunteer signup platform, please email Carole@noteinthepocket.org to inquire about the need for a driver at your preferred location.

Clothing Request Delivery

Contact Carole@noteinthepocket.org to see if we have an opening in our Delivery Team rotation! 

• Pick up completed clothing requests from us at 4730 Hargrove Rd
• Deliver to referring school or agency
• Must be at least 21 years old and provide proof of valid driver’s license and insurance 
• Choose the areas in Wake County that are convenient for you
• Receive a text when requests are ready to deliver to the areas you chose
